Yado-Yukie
(Restored and inaugurated in August 2004)

This building located in front of the Antonio Mancini square, was built during the later half the 1920’s and is a clear example of how the art nouveau style evolved into art déco.

A large fountain with palm trees give this courtyard a typically roman atmosphere. The main Piazza and the neighbouring streets have all been given names of italian artists of the XIXth century, Antonio Mancini, being himself a XVIIIth century painter specialised in portraits.

Since the roman times, the europeans have used Ponte Milvio as a passage way across the Tiber to reach the Flaminio avenue and finally arrive at the Piazza del Popolo. The B&B Yado-Yukie is close to Ponte Milvio. From this quiet and green residential area one can easily walk to the Foro Italico, the football stadium, the Auditorium ( concert hall built by the arch. Renzo Piano) and the Museum of Contemporary Art still being built.

Facing the entrance of the building you have many bus stops and a tram that can bring you in about 8 minutes to the Piazza del Popolo. From there, the stairs of Piazza di Spagna and via dei Condotti with all its luxury shops are within a 5 minutes walk. Finally a simple bus ride will lead you either to the Vatican or to Trastevere.
